Skyline Sunday Scoop - Week 3
Skyline Sunday Scoop – Week #3
Hey Skyline!
What a busy week for our team! We had two good home meets with one win and one loss. Thanks to all our volunteers (especially those who jumped in at the last minute!) Congratulations to Skyline for their win yesterday at the Lititz Springs Invitational! Coach Barb sure has a lot of ribbons to hand out tomorrow! The results are attached and photos from both events will be posted on our Skyline Facebook page shortly. Now for the news… and there is a lot…
NO DUAL MEETS THIS WEEK
Manheim Fast and Furious
The 18th Annual Fast and Furious Invitational is Saturday, July 17. Swimmers 11 years and older will be in the morning session while 10 and under will be in the afternoon. Entries are due July 8. If your plans have changed and you either want to now go to the meet or no longer go, please change your availability on the Swimtopia website. Please remember that the team pays for each event your child is entered to swim and you are expected to honor your commitment or pay the team the fees.
Swimtopia
You can now see your swimmer/s’ times from the beginning of the season through yesterday at Lititz Springs. If you have the app, click on your swimmer/s’ name/s and then swim history. If you don’t have the app -on the website in the upper right-hand corner where it says Welcome – drop down to My Account and on the next screen, click on your swimmer/s name/s and it will take you to your swimmer/s best times. If you click on the stroke in both the app and the website, it will show all the times this year with a star next to the best time. Any questions, just ask Linda and she will do her best to help you. Thanks to former swim parent, Sam Besnoff, who has been running our computer at the home meets and has been uploading these times to the Swimtopia website.
Skyline Cup
The 14th Annual Skyline Charity Cup is Tuesday, July 6th
For those who are new -The Skyline Charity Cup is a fun evening that has 44 events that are all 25s and helps to support local charities.
Swimmers need to sign up by Wednesday so Coach Barb can work on entries. Changes (adding or scratching) can be done up through Sunday, July 4, and can be done by emailing or texting Coach Barb.
Admission: $5 for spectators (even volunteers) over the age of 17
Bring a non-perishable food item and receive a raffle ticket.
Volunteers: Volunteer jobs and concession needs will be open later tonight. Please note we will need more volunteers than a dual meet so if your child is swimming that night – you need to volunteer! We also close the Skyline Pool Concession stand that night so we will also need more food items donated.
Raffle Baskets for each age group are below. Please look at your swimmer/s age group/s to see what items you can purchase and donate to help us put together baskets to be raffled off that evening. All items can be brought to Skyline this week and are due by Monday, July 5. Place in bins that will be out at practices labeled Raffle Baskets. IF YOU WOULD RATHER MAKE A DONATION FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO PURCHASE ITEMS FOR THE RAFFLE BASKETS, PLACE YOUR MONEY IN AN ENVELOPE MARKED SKYLINE CUP AND THE AGE LEVEL/S AND PUT IT IN PIPER MAILBOX.
Mamas/Papas/Alumni Race
In the middle of the Skyline Charity Cup, we will have a Freestyle Race for any mom, dad, or alumni swimmer to participate in. If you would like to participate – please fill out this Google Form so we can begin to set up the race file. https://forms.gle/1AfcCg45nycmeiA5A Spread the word and get ready for some good competition!
Guppy Gulch - TOMORROW
For those going tomorrow – two reminders:
- Pack a lunch, drinks, and sunscreen
- Arrive by 9:30
- Any questions, please contact Joyous Bethel at [email protected].
Photo Makeup Day – Thursday, July 1
The photographer is able to be here during morning practices on Thursday to take photos of anyone who wasn’t able to have their individual photo taken last week. There is a folder in the top mailbox with order forms. IF YOU PLAN TO HAVE YOUR CHILD’S PHOTO TAKEN THAT DAY, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW. IF POSSIBLE, HE DOESN’T WANT TO BE AT THE POOL ALL MORNING SO I’M TRYING TO DETERMINE A TIME FRAME-BASED ON AGE LEVEL NEEDS.
Chipotle Fundraiser Night
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the team on Monday night. The team will receive $364.
Swimsuits and Apparel
There are still a few of you who need to pick up your apparel at the pool. It is currently in a bag in our shed. We hope to hear from T and T tomorrow about the cap situation. I know Overlook just got theirs at the end of last week – so fingers crossed this is our week.
