Mid-Week News
Families -
We have a lot going on right now so I needed to send a mid-week email to touch base on some things.
Last Night's Meet
Thank you for your understanding last night as L-S had to pivot to running the meet indoors and limiting spectators to only those working the meet. The score was Skyline - 262 and L-S 167. Since the Lancaster Summer Swim League's website is down, I'm attaching the current standings for Division 1 to this email and the Skyline Meet Results.
Tomorrow Night - Final Home Meet - Overlook - Senior Night
Tomorrow night is our final home meet of the 2021 Season. It is also senior night. We will recognize our seniors in the middle of the meet. We are still in need of a few volunteers and a few concession items. REMINDER: THIS WILL BE THE FINAL HOME MEET FOR SOMEONE TO SHADOW OUR OUTGOING CONCESSIONS COORDINATOR. PLEASE CONSIDER SPEAKING TO HER TOMORROW NIGHT SO THAT WE CAN HAVE A CONCESSION STAND NEXT YEAR.
Reminders
- Remain on the Skyline side unless using the bathroom or visiting concessions briefly
- Conserve energy and stay warm – No running around – NO ONE SHOULD BE ON THE PLAYGROUND
- Report to the staging area when called
- Be responsible – be ready to report to the staging area in plenty of time for your event. This means making sure that your swimmer has used the bathroom with plenty of time before their next event.
- Wait for all swimmers in heat to finish before exiting the pool. Shake hands with lanes next to you.
Mailboxes and Lost and Found
Pictures were put in mailboxes yesterday. When we put them in, we saw that many of you had not picked up the banquet and Swim for Cancer fliers along with some ribbons from past meets. Please be sure to visit the mailboxes tomorrow to see if you have anything in your folder. Also, the Lost and Found items have been placed in a bin. It will be out tomorrow at practice and then at the meet but after that - the items will either be thrown out or donated.
Swim for Cancer (Save a Life)
Swimmers need to turn in a sponsor/donation form on Friday to participate. (It can be for any amount.) Reminder: ONLY SWIMMERS WHO ARE PARTICIPATING SHOULD COME TO PRACTICE ON FRIDAY. Snacks will be provided.
Banquet
Just a reminder that forms and checks are due on Monday at the absolute latest. That is the day we need to tell the Eden how many people are attending. If you plan to attend, all papers, along with a check for payment need to be placed in the Speizer mailbox by Monday, July 19. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jill Speizer at [email protected]
Donations for Coaches
If you would like to make a donation, please place it in either Bethel or Brandsema mailboxes.
Divisionals
We are still in need of 4 timers for the PM 8 and under and 9/10 age groups. You can register here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090449acac2aa64-p...
League Relays
While you need to qualify to go to All Leagues, you do not need to qualify to go to relays. We are allowed to enter up to 2 relays in each age group and they have both a free relay and a medley relay. So if your swimmer(s) are available to swim Friday night for relays and want to be part of this final meet, please mark your swimmer as available for the relay session on Swimtopia. Coach Barb will choose from the available swimmers the two best relays (If we have at least 8 swimmers available) to enter into the relay portion of the meet. The swimmers DO NOT have to "have" the individual qualifying times to participate in the relays Friday evening. Any questions, please contact Coach Barb.
Manheim Fast and Furious - Saturday
Arrival time is 7:15 for AM session and 12:15 for the PM session. I am attaching a photo that was sent to us about parking, etc. If you are attending, please take a look at it.
See everyone tomorrow night!
